I have been teaching formal logic twice a year for over a decade, and I've been researching empirical work on pedagogy for nearly as long.
I've taught small classes at liberal arts schools and large lectures with more than 200 students. As a lecturer in the Philosophy Department at the University of Washington, I know the demands faced by teaching-heavy positions.
I am also involved in the Evidence-Based Teaching Program in the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Washington.
I designed this book to be the best possible resource for faculty managing teaching, research and service duties while also being based on cutting-edge research in the science of teaching and learning.
